Brass Tacks

Many expected this administration to advocate for value-based care via Medicare and Medicaid payment mechanisms. However, surprises have led to a reassessment of these implications:

  • A strong emphasis on reducing costs.

  • Reduced support from the federal government.

  • Inconsistent guidance from the administration.

  • Pressure on Medicare Advantage insurers, which will likely affect providers.

  • Relief for some independent providers in terms of Medicare payments, but a susceptibility to fee-for-service reductions across insurers.

I believe that prioritizing efficient healthcare delivery will persist. For health systems or large organizations, we should support care providers by simplifying authorizations, billing, payments, capitation, bonuses, shared services, and rewards management. This enables them to focus on providing top-quality care.
